Ingredients for the Braised Short Rib
Braised short rib
2 Red onions
5 Chopped carrots
1.5 glasses of wine
1.5 tbsp honey
4-5 Garlic cloves
Salt & Pepper
Preheat your oven
Preheat your oven to 150 degrees.
Seasoning the short rib
To start, season the short rib with a generous amount of salt & pepper on both sides. Once you have seasoned, add your meat and thyme to a hot pot and fry the meat for 2-3min on each side to seal in the flavour.
Once you have fried the short rib, remove the meat and place it in a separate dish. Place your chopped red onions in the already heated pot and fry for 5min. Next add your garlic. You will see that the onions will start to have a glossy look to them. Next add the red wine.
Just as the red wine starts reducing, add the meat back into the pot. At this stage reduce the heat and add in the beer, stock, root veggies and honey.
Close the lid of the pot and place in the oven at 150 degrees celsius for 3-4hours.
Once 3-4 hours has elapsed, remove from the oven.
Best served with mashed potato!
